Special Effects Portfolio

During my time in Sheridan’s Advanced Special Effects program, I’ve been able to develop my skills and build a portfolio I am proud of throughout 2025. I am excited to keep growing as an artist, and I hope you’ll follow along as my work evolves.

Ape-Hybrid Latex Mask (aka Harold)

I created a new creature that is a hybrid of an ape and a wood turtle. I named the creature "the Glyptemys Troglodytes," but I like to call him Harold for short.

I created this mask by making a sculpt out of monster clay, creating a mould of the sculpture out of hydrocal, and then making a slush cast of it out of liquid latex. I then painted it and added all the details with Pax Paint.

Mushroom Girl Muppet-Puppet

A muppet style puppet I made for my (believe it or not) puppet class. I hand-sewed and embroidered the top, as well as made the mushroom hat out of L200 foam and felt.

Snail Sculpture (aka Benjamin)

One of my favourite and most recent projects. I hand-sculpted a snail out of monster clay before separating the sculpted body and shell. I then resculpted the touch-ups and made a two-piece hydrocal mould for the body and a platinum silicone split mould for the shell. I cast the body in platinum silicone with 50% deadener added, and rotocasted the shell with KX Flex 90, filling the rest with expanding foam. I painted the snail's body with tinted silpoxy, and the shell with acrylic paint, before sealing everything and attaching the two pieces for the final sculpt.

Inky Cap Mushroom Sprite

I created a 3D STL on heroforge of a sprite creature, inspired by the inkycap mushroom. She was 3D printed in resin before prepping, priming and painting her with acrylic paint, and sealing her with crystal clear.
